Tax Preparation FAQs
What do I do if I get a letter from the IRS?
Most letters from the IRS are about a federal tax return or a tax account. If there are any action items, the letter will have a date by which you need to respond and have instructions on how to do so. There is no reason to panic but time is of the essence. First review the document and pay special attention to any deadlines, then reach out to us at We Do Taxes ASAP if you need assistance. You will be able to send a copy of the letter to us, then we can assist you with interpreting and responding to the letter. You also want to ensure that you keep a copy of the letter for your record. How much do you charge and how can I pay?
The fees at We Do Taxes are form based. This means that the fees to prepare your taxes will vary depending on your unique tax situation and the forms needed to prepare an accurate tax return. With a call to one of our experts, we can conduct a quick survey and provide you with a guaranteed price!
You may pay your tax preparation fees using a few methods to include an EFT such as Zelle, any major credit or debit card or an RT (Refund Transfer). Refund Transfers allow tax preparation fees to be deducted from your tax refund if you will receive one. Your remaining refund will be deposited to the bank account you selected. Refund Transfers do have a small processing that may change from year to year. Give us a call to find out more about RTs.
How long does it take to get my tax return completed?
The time taken to complete a tax return at We Do Taxes varies based on the complexity of the return, how quickly you can provide us with the necessary documentation, and your availability. Most tax returns, however, are completed within 24 hours from the time you engage our services. Our experts will be able to give you a completion date after your initial consultation.
What documents would you need from me to get started?
There are several documents that your tax preparer at We Do Taxes would need from you to complete your tax return. To get started though, we would need a government issued photo ID to verify you, your social security number and a copy of your prior year return. Thereafter, all other documents fall into a few categories. They are income related documents, deduction related documents, credit related documents and adjustment related documents. In general, any document that you need to file with your taxes from a third-party will state on the form that it is a tax related document. How much can you get me back in a tax refund?
Many factors determine whether you will receive a refund or have a tax liability. Some of those factors are your filing status, number and age of your dependents, your source of income, how much tax you paid on your income throughout the year, and tax credits that you may qualify for. While the refund amount may vary for everyone, We Do Taxes works hard to ensure that we get you the maximum refund possible by using the tax law to our advantage. Contact us and we can provide you with a fee refund or balance due estimate.
Do you provide state tax return services?
